Our practice team is highly trained in a number of areas including:

  • Blood Pressure Monitoring
  • Minor Illness
  • Phlebotomy and Near Patient Testing
  • Minor Surgery
  • ECGs
  • Spirometry
  • Chronic Disease Management including Coronary Heart Disease, Diabetes, Asthma, COPD
  • Annual Influenza and Pneumococcal Vaccinations
  • Childhood Immunisations
  • In house anticoagulation (warfarin) monitoring clinics

Womens Health

  • Cervical Smears
  • Menopause
  • Weight Management Advice and Support

Contraceptive services

All methods of contraception provided at the surgery, including combined contraceptive methods, contraceptive pills, injections, contraceptive implant fits and removals and coil fits and removals.

Children’s health

Dr Thompson and Dr Battle assess babies at 6 to 8 weeks.

The health visitors offer the following checks:

East Yorkshire

  • Antenatal Visit
  • Birth Visit
  • 6 to 8 week visit including weighing and measuring
  • 4 month visit
  • 2 year visit

North Yorkshire

  • Antenatal visit
  • New birth visit 10 to 14 days after baby is born
  • 6 to 8 week visit including weighing and measuring
  • 9 to 12 month developmental checks
  • 2 to 2½ year developmental review

Minor surgery

Dr Foster and Dr Thompson perform minor surgery.

Joint injections

Dr Tinker and Dr Thompson give joint injections.

Chronic disease clinics

Patients with asthma, COPD (chronic bronchitis and emphysema), IHD (heart disease), diabetes, hypertension and chronic kidney disease are invited for regular checks to assess levels of symptoms and to optimise treatment.

Physiotherapy

A physiotherapist visits The Marshes each week. All referrals are made through the doctors.

Stop smoking clinics

Courses are available at several locations locally but are also held here at the surgery for our East Riding Residents. Patients can refer themselves by calling the following numbers:

Infection control

The practice underakes annual infection control Audits at all our sites and our staff undertake regular training. Ellen Chantry (Nurse Manager) is the Infection Control Clinical Lead and Jacqueline Roe (Practice Manager) is the non clinical lead for Infection Control.

Feeling stressed, anxious or down?

Don’t worry – help is available and you don’t even need to see your GP

If you are aged 16 and over and registered with a GP in the East Riding, you can refer yourself directly to the Emotional Wellbeing Service.
